WHO WE ARE

CAFLO is a catalyst for development.  Together we can make a difference.

We envision a vibrant society of people living peacefully, healthily and with a better quality of life through education, socio-economic development and respecting human rights. CAFLO promotes this in families and communities by empowering people to overcome challenges facing them such as disease, poverty/unemployment, malnourishment, physical and mental handicaps, gender inequalities, domestic violence, child abuse, drug/alcohol abuse, sexual abuse and illegal trafficking. As Tanzania is East Africa’s most populated country (nearly 45 million) with about 75% of the population living in rural areas, we located our main office directly within the rural-urban community (Ilala district, Dar es Salaam) in order to be as accessible as possible to those who need the most help.  Our efforts target the most vulnerable and impoverished, with a strong focus on children, youth and women.  We provide support through community outreach projects, counselling, education, advocating health, campaigning for human rights and fostering economic wellbeing through capacity skills education for self-reliability resulting in improved quality of life and sustainable community changes.

OBJECTIVES:

1.) To strengthen counselling services and provide quality psycho-social support to children, families, those in vulnerable positions and the community at large.

2.) To participate in the efforts and campaign against the spread of disease, drug/alcohol abuse, child abuse, domestic violence, gender based inequalities and promiscuous sex through advocating fundamental behavior changes.

3.) To foster socio-economic development by empowering youth to further their education and providing capacity skills training opportunities for the most impoverished.

4.) To advocate for human rights for widows, youths, orphans, the disabled and others in vulnerable positions.

5.) To cooperate effectively with national and international partnerships, government institutions and faith-based organizations in overcoming the aforementioned issues.
